Hoang Nhung is currently a third-year student of the Department of Tourism Management, Hanoi University of Culture.

Talking about the typical culture of her people in the behavioral competition, Hoang Nhung expressed clearly: `The Tay people have many unique and rich cultures such as then singing, playing the guitar… and ceremonies.

The title of 1st runner-up in the competition went to Truong Thi May, Khmer ethnicity, and 2nd runner-up was H’Ro Ni Buon Ya, Ede ethnicity.

The Miss Vietnam Ethnic Contest has a `bumper harvest` of titles and awards for beauties.

The jury also awarded 10 awards named after flowers, including: Orchid Beauty (best photo): Siu Ngoi, Jarai ethnic group.

Rose beauty (best body): Mai Hai Anh, Kinh ethnicity.

The Miss Vietnam Ethnic Contest was held for the first time, as one of the activities of the Dalat Flower Festival in 2007. Launched 6 months ago, the contest attracted 1,500 contestants, from 35 ethnic groups worldwide.

Before entering the final competition night, 47 beauties participated in many other competitions in the flower city: horse riding, bicycle racing, cooking, weaving, embroidery, archery, swimsuit competition…

At the awards night, the contest organizing committee awarded 300 million VND to the Study Promotion Fund and the Population – Family – Children Committee of Lam Dong province.

The final round of the Miss Vietnam Ethnic Contest is also the closing event of the 2007 Dalat Flower Festival. This festival welcomed 100,000 visitors.

Previously, on December 20, in an unexpected press conference in Da Lat, Mr. Huynh Duc Hoa, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, admitted his shortcomings about incidents and poor organization of activities within the framework.
